Demonstration of small-scale biodiesel production using Waste Vegetable Oil
We have designed a pilot plant for the production of biodiesel from waste vegetable oil or similar residues. This plant has been working since 2003.
Biodiesel pilot plant (simplified scheme)
The plant is based on a stirred and electrically heated batch reactor with a maximum capacity of 180 liters and is equipped with a biodiesel/glycerin settling tank, a neutralization and washing tank, and a separating cone for the elimination of washing residues. A centrifue is used for reducing the amount of water and sediment below the permissible levels.
Learning cuve showing the effect of early glycerin extraction on conversion yield.
